  • Support programmatic learning and adaptive management in the Mission, Geospatial Information Services (GIS) will provide geographically displayed information on the Mission’s portfolio and the Tanzania context. The Mission has limited GIS capabilities using the ARC-GIS mapmaker. This functionality includes basic activity/project location mapping, along with overlays of data disaggregated by geographic locations. However, more robust capabilities are required. The contractor will work with related software and programs to create and maintain data and maps that can be combined with geographically referenced data. GIS data must be able to include and relate different types of data such as socioeconomic, demographic, administrative or political boundaries, land use, land cover, environmental, infrastructure, and transportation networks. Upgraded GIS software will be required for these services to be successful. The Mission expects 10-20 maps to be created annually.
  • Perform other IT or innovation tasks as requested by the COR or CO.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in the fields of computer science, computer engineering, information systems management, or related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in operating computers, PC support, and programming.
  • Google Apps experience.

Scope of the Position:

HKI-Tanzania is seeking a Short Term Data Entry Assistant who will be responsible for entering trichiasis patient data from paper forms into a simple database. The Short Term Data Entry Assistant will be work out of the HKI Dar es Salaam office at times and will also be required to travel for long periods to districts where the Trachoma SAFE Program is being implemented.

Duration: 3 months (short-term field worker contract)
Major Tasks and Activities:
  • Preparing and sorting documents for data entry
  • Entering patients’ data from paper forms into the database and checking to ensure the accuracy of the data that has been inputted
  • Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents
  • Verify patient data by comparing it to source data
  • Print electronic reports and share with IPs and CP
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Extensive travel to district capitals in Trachoma SAFE Program districts
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in a relevant field OR a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a data entry clerk
  • Ideal candidate has experience and familiarity with trachoma patient data points

Nature and Scope
The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Hardware and Networking. She/he will be responsible for designing, implementing, documenting and performance tuning of the network infrastructure. She/he will be involved in designing and implementing Network servers, Computer systems, LANs, WANs, Network segments, and Internet connectivity.

Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinating development and implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy in order to facilitate and support smooth operations for the bank .
2. Designing, implementing and maintaining Network servers, Computer systems, LANs, WANs, network segments, and Internet Connectivity.
3. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, iPads, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
4. Participate in advising Management on suitability of the network infrastructure including any improvements required to meet current and future business needs of the bank.
5. Ensure that all new implementations of security solutions are in-line with the bank's security requirements and comply with the bank's policies.

7. Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.
