Job Description

INTRODUCTION
HERMARGS Institute (HI) is a newly established firm for Health and Allied Sciences, Business and Humanity Studies that aims to provide demand driven quality education, research and outreach services in the United Republic of Tanzania and beyond. The Institute is found in Kinyenze (Kipera) village, Mlali ward, Mvomero district, in Morogoro region, Tanzania. It is located about 25 kilometers from Morogoro town along Iringa road. HERMARGS Institute invites qualified, dynamic and result–oriented Tanzanians with high integrity to fill the following vacant posts.

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (1 POST)
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution with a demonstrated work experience of at least one year.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To keep accounting records and balancing accounts (double entry book-keeping).
• To deal with invoices, income, receipts and payments.
• To write and maintain Cash Books and /or pay wages and manage claims for petty expenses.
• To prepare financial statements showing income and/ or payments and check that accounts are accurate.
• To assist in preparing annual financial accounts.
• To process bills for payment and issue cheques for accounts payable.
• To input, type vouchers, invoices, cheques, account statements, reports, and other financial related records.
• To perform other related functions as may be assigned by Supervisor/Employer.

LIBRARY ASSISTANT (1 POST)
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of a diploma in librarianship or equivalent academic qualifications from a recognized institution, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To carry out routine library professional duties.
• To handling matters pertaining to lending out and receipt of books, cataloguing, indexing, acquisition of books and periodicals.
• To perform documentation processes.
• To develop library catalogues and correspondences.
• To performing other duties as may be assigned by Deputy Principal – Academic.

ASSISTANT TUTOR (PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNICIAN) – 3 POSTS
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution with a GPA of 3.5 or above and teaching experience of at least one year for Assistant Tutor II and three years for Assistant Tutor I.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Teaching 4 to 5 NTA levels (certificate level).
• Understudying senior members through attending lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical training.
• Assist in conducting tutorial, seminars and practical exercises for students under close supervision.
• Prepare learning and training resources (materials) for theory and practical classes.
• Carry out research, consultancy and outreach activities under close supervision by Senior members.
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Deputy Principal – Academic and other responsible authority in the Institute.

Job Title: DEAN OF STUDENTS (1 POST)
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of first Degree or Diploma in either Counseling, Education, Psychology, Human Resource Management, Sociology, Social welfare, or equivalent from a recognized Institution with at least three (3) years of working experience.
Duties and Responsibility
• To ensure that students have the adequate resources with reliable conducive learning environment. • Coordinate and ensure access to important services for students which may include financial aid, housing, touring, and health services. • To assist prospective students in the admissions process. • To head the disciplinary Committee solving students academic and none academic disputes that may lead to expulsion and disciplinary referrals from instructors and none academic workers, (i.e to handle discipline-related processes and procedures). • Supervising various students programs and serving as a liaison between college administrators and student organizations, such as a student association. • To manage and coordinate all social programs like sports and games, clubs etc. • To provide advice regarding development of policies to student life and other supportive programs. • To coordinate and facilitate cleanliness and access to utilities (water, electricity and telephone), security and all estates. • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Deputy Principal – Finance and Administration.
