Mwalimu Commercial Bank PLC (MCB) (In-Formation) is a newly licensed commercial bank by the Bank of Tanzania, and is in its 'final stages of setting up operations. Job Summary:
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Finance and Administration has a primary responsibility to protect the assets of the Bank through maintenance and development of a systematic process for financial control and review,
S/he is accountable to provide accurate, timely and meaningful financial and management information that enables the Board of Directors and management to make effective decisions regarding the strategic direction of the Bank, S/he is also responsible for all day-to-day support activities at the Bank including handle administrative issues,
Key Responsibilities:
Shall include but not limited to the following:
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation;
Provide an accurate and timely financial services including setting and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis, management and financial accounts and advice and support to inform decision making at all levels;
Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements-and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with International Financial
Reporting Standards (IFRS),
Develop, implement-and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures and ensure that all statutory requirements of the Bank are met including BOT, TRA, CMSA and DSE;
Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that fixed assets are properly recorded and coded, amortized and disposed of as appropriate;
Evaluate the need for new technology to meet the Bank's financial data processing, control and reporting requirements;
Advise on appropriate technology that meets the Bank's information requirements and financial resources;
Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the rest of management team;
Vendor Management - finding, short listing and selecting vendors for all administration related services and procurements;
Design and implement the necessary controls to protect the Bank's assets and prevent any potential areas of fraud and advise -the CEO on appropriate insurance coverage for the Bank; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the CEO from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications:
University Degree or equivalent qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration; Possession of Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (T), ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA;
Minimum seven (7) years of progressive financial responsibility at senior management level in a financial institution
