Dodoma Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DUWASA) was established under section 3(1) of Cap. 272 of 1997 as repealed by section 60 of Water supply and Sanitation Act No. 05 of 2019. DUWASA is charged with the overall responsibility of operations and management of water supply and sanitation services in Dodoma urban within the Municipality.

PLUMBER ll ( 1 POST)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Holder of Form IV with Trade Test ll/l in Plumbing/ Pipe fitter or equivalent | qualification with three years’work experience in plumbing works
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

1. Reports all water leakage as assigned.
2. Reports water loss, distribution faults and recommend necessary action.
3. Carries out water disconnections of debtors and reconnections after payment
4. Reports water pipe bursts.
5. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR THE POSTS
Permanent and Pensionable.
AGE LIMIT FOR THE APPLICANTS

DRIVER ll (4 POSTS)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Possession of Form IV Secondary School Education and valid driving license with Class C’s and D and a trade test III or advanced drivers certificate grade III | from a recognized institution like VETA/NIT, with not less than three years driving experience.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Checks vehicle every morning to ensure it is fit to be driven before driving.
2. Drives vehicle safely taking into account traffic laws, safety of passengers and other road users and value of the vehicle.
3. Completes logbook regularly for effective control of running costs of the vehicle.
4. Keeps record of vehicle movements, distance covered within its logbook.
5. Performs any other duties related to the above assigned by superiors

DRIVER CUM OPERATOR ll (1 POST) 
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Possession of Form IV Secondary School Education and Class C valid driving  license and a trade test III or advanced drivers certificate grade III from a recognized institution like VETA/NIT, with not less than three years driving experience.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate heavy equipment like cranes, Backhoe and other related equipment.
2. Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property.
3. Perform periodical safety, maintenance or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment.
4. Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, etc.
5. Performs any other duties related to the above assigned by superiors

HEAD OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY UNIT – ONE POST – (Re-advertised)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Holder of a Master’s Degree in Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other relevant field. Should have at least eight (08) years of relevant work experience out of which at least three (3) years should be at a senior managerial position.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages the Information and Communication Technology Unit by formulating short and long term work programmes for the Unit and ensures that programmes are implemented;
2. Formulates the Authority’s information and communication technology policies and guidelines, and ensuring that such policies and guidelines are adhered to by all Departments and Units;
3. Facilitates the application of modern information and communication technology in all aspects of the Authority’s operations and ensures that such application is constantly updated;
4. Assists Departments and other Units in solving problems related to the use of information and communication technology equipment and systems, and takes measures to ensure that information management in the Authority is secure;
5. Advises the Managing Director on all matters pertaining to information and communication technology, and ensures that the Managing Director is appraised of opportunities and threats that have a bearing on the management of information and communication technology in the Authority;
6. Develops individual performance objectives, targets and standards in consultation with the immediate superior as part of performance agreement and cconducts open performance review and appraisal for subordinates and gives feedback.
7. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director from time to time.

OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN II (1 POST)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Holder of Diploma/ FTC in Civil/Sanitary Engineering or equivalent qualification with three years work experience in water distribution Network and computer application skills.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensures that all water leakages are repaired promptly.
2. Investigates causes of water loss and makes necessary rectification
3. Attends to customers complains regarding water shortage and other problems.
4. Develops individual performance objectives, targets and standards in consultation with the immediate superior as part of performance agreement
5. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II (1 POST)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Holder of Diploma in Water Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution with three years relevant experience in water production and treatment and good knowledge of ICT application skills.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Carries out water sample tests every day in order to establish the types and quantities of water treatment.
2. Carries out analysis of raw water and treated water
3. Performs water and waste water treatment processes.
4. Carries out physical, chemical and bacteriological analysis of water and waste water.
5. Performs any other duties relevant to the scope of work as may be assigned by Production Engineer

ELECTRICAL ARTISAN 11 (1 POST)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Form IV with Trade Test Grade lll/ll in Electrical Engineering with three (3) years working in the Operation and Maintenance of electrical works.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Carries out regular electrical maintenance and repair of motor starters
2. Prepares job cards for every electrical maintenance and repairs carried out.
3. Ensures that all Motor pumps and control panels in all pumping stations undergo service twice per month.
4. Carries out inspection and testing for new installed electrical equipment as well as making additional installation to the existing ones where necessary.
5. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor

METER READER II (1 POST)
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Holder of Form IV with Trade Test ll/l in Plumbing/ Pipe fitter or equivalent I qualification with three years’work experience in plumbing works
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Reads all meters allocated to them by the Section Head and prepares meter readings and customer bills distribution report for their area.
2. Cleans clogged water meters and ensure that all meters are in good running condition all the time.
3. Checks and ensures that all meters in the zone are in working condition.
4.  Follows up debts from customers that have not paid their bills.
5. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.
