The WWF ( WORLD WIDE FUND FOR NATURE) an international conservation organization is seeking for a competent and highly motivated forest programme officer to be based in Kilwa. The forest programme officer will have major functions of coordinating the project implementation in the following districts namely Kilwa, Rufiji, Tunduru, and Namtumbo districts
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Under the supervision of the forest program coordinator . the project officer will assist in supporting the management and execution of forest program activities within the forest landscapes. In the collaboration with identified key stakeholder take a lead in the process of describing and delineating the agree forest landscape boundaries and assess the issues related to forest gaps, connectivity and buffer development function to initiate and support village land use plan certain of local authority forest reservation and village land forest reserves ( VLFRs ) lead the process to the development participatory forest work plan with civil society and local districts facilitate implementations process of agree conservation plans with key indicator based completed and new Ares management effectiveness tracking tool (METT) scores completed and constantly monitored and emoted implementation of those plan with target communities. Carry out training and staffing needs assessment a all levels .plan for direct capacity building intervention based on training capacity needs of partners
Support in service training coerces development and implementations at all level within both forestry and associated sectors and within NGOs and CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS ( CSO 0 in priority forest landscape collaborate with Mpingo Conservation Project plus other civil societies in the landscape to join and scale up GROPU CERTIFICATION SCHEME UNDER MCDI
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree at least a BSC in forest science
- MSC in environmental science will be an added advantage
- 2 years working experience at grass root level in forest related projects and environment
- Particularly in facilitating participatory forest management, village land and development context
- Good coordination skills with experience of technical project implementation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good team work sprit
- Experience in writing project report and management plans
