Overall purpose:
The placement will support the implementation of the Gender Equality
and Social Inclusion Strategy (GESI) of the Midwives Save Lives project
in Tanzania.
Overall Objectives:
- Provide support to the project local partners for the implementation of the MSL GESI strategy;
- Participate in the development of monitoring and evaluation tools;
- Support the partners’ efforts to develop internal policies, and resource materials to raise awareness around gender issues among staff and members;
- Support partners with the development of advocacy initiatives (eg. March 8th).
As a volunteer, you will:
-Revise MSL GESI strategy for Tanzania and support the development of a workplan
- Support the development of monitoring and evaluation tools
-Identify advocacy opportunities for TAMA link to GESI issues
-Assist TAMA with the development of advocacy activities
-Contribute to the development of internal policies and resource materials on GESI
Essential Academic Qualifications:
University degree in gender, social sciences (sociology, anthropology) or any other field related to development.
Essential Professional Background:
-Understanding of gender related issues & 2 years’ experience;
-Experience with policy analysis and policy drafting;
-Experience in facilitation
