IESC – the International Executive Service Corps – is a US-based non-profit organization that supports private enterprise in developing countries. We have worked in 130 countries – mainly with the generous support of USAID – designing, implementing, managing and evaluating a wide range of market-driven solutions along the entire value chain of a company or industry.
The Feed the Future Tanzania Enabling Growth Through Investment and Enterprise Program (ENGINE) is a USAID-funded initiative that aims to increase private sector investment in the southern agricultural regions of Mbeya, Morogoro, and Iringa, as well as in Zanzibar. The program aims to streamline and enhance many of the regulatory, informational and financial channels that encourage domestic and foreign investment.
To that end, ENGINE has developed the Bizfundi digital platform—a website and Android mobile application—that enables business owners to quickly and easily identify, review and communicate with a wide range of consultants and firms that provide strategic and operational support services for businesses. The platform also serves as a way of facilitating linkages between small businesses in Tanzania and financial institutions.
Position: Part-time Bizfundi Field Facilitator (20 hours per week)
Reporting to: Institutional Partnerships Coordinator(IPC)
Location: Mbeya, Iringa, Morogoro and Zanzibar (2 staff in each Region)
Duration: 3 months
Start date: May 2018
Position Summary
Under the supervision of ENGINE’s Institutional Partnerships Coordinator (IPC), the part-time Bizfundi Field Agent will promote the Bizfundi digital platform among promising micro, small and medium businesses, ensuring that small business owners are aware of the service and assisting them to register and access its features.
Overall Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify high potential MSMEs; inform them about the Bizfundi platform and assist them to register with the service.
  • Monitor use among MSMEs in registered users in his/her location and cultivate local support networks.
  • Report progress regularly to IPC.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma/degree in community development, sociology or marketing;
  • At least two years’ previous work experience;
  • Basic computer proficiency, including use of internet, e-mail, Microsoft Office suite;
  • Fluent in Kiswahili, good command of English;
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills.
The part-time Bizfundi Field Agent will promote the Bizfundi digital platform.
