ILRI IS a member of the CGIAR Consortium, a global research partnership of 15 centres working
with' many partners for a food-secure future. ILRI has two main campuses in East Africa and other hubs in' East, West and Southern Africa and South, Southeast and East Asia. www.ilri.org.
Duty Station: This is a Nationally Recruited Position and the incumbent will be based within the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries in the, Department of Policy and Planning in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Manages the calendars for the PAP Ac activities, including monthly meetings of the Policy
Analysis Group (PAG), this will involve taking minutes of the meetings
Provide logistical support to PAPAC meetings, conferences and events including sending invitations to participants and the successful planning of all logistical details.
Maintains project files, prepares draft response letters, or type in final as required, assists in organizing debrief sessions and other duties as assigned by PAPAC Coordinator.
Establishes and maintains computer-based list of key contacts in government, private sector, and other key agricultural policy stakeholders;
Solicits inputs and manages development of agenda for staff meetings and take notes during meetings.
Manage and update an inventory of policy research work, studies to inform agricultural policy in,
Tanzania
Facilitate access to information by the users of the Policy Resource Center (PRC)
Take lead in proper maintenance of project account receivables and payables and checking accuracy of project cashbooks before posting to accounting system,
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to ILRI procedures
Ensure Project accounting procedures are in line with acceptable accounting standards.
Attending to and provision of relevant information to external auditors and TRA.
Requirements:
Possession of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy or project management
Minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible in accounting, project management which involved some responsibilities in office administration
Computer literacy and demonstrated proficiency with software such as Word, Excel, .and Accounting softwares
Level IV, fluent written and oral proficiency in English is required including mastery of English grammar and spelling, punctuation, paragraph and sentence structure
Other desirable skills:
Thorough knowledge of general administrative, procedures, and formats;
Ability to initiate actions and take to completion without guidance;
Ability to research, organize data, and quickly compile into accurate reports or necessary lists; .
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with staff members, the general Public;
General information:
This is a fixed term position for 1 year. This is a nationally recruited position and IIT A offers a competitive remuneration package.
