VACANCY-
The University of Bagamoyo is an independent, privately owned non- denominational and non-partisan higher education institution registered by the Tanzania Commission for Universities to provide higher education in the country. The University is seeking a suitably qualified dynamic team member to serve in the position of Bursar of the University. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining strong working relationships with supplier agencies, auditors, banking institutions, and various divisions on campus such as students' services and academic units. Must be able to perform multi- task, and manage many tasks at one time with interruptions.

1. Position: Bursar
Reporting to: Vice Chancellor
Location: Dar es Salaam

Duties and Responsibilities
i. Plans, co-ordinates, direct and controls all financial accounting matters of the University
ii. Prepares and maintains proper accounting records of the University.
iii. Prepares operational and capital expenditure budget estimates and revision for various units of the University
iv. Advises the Vice Chancellor in making sound investments of the University funds. .
v. Maintain system historical records and source documents on students fees, charges, deposits, and receivables for support and review with students departments, internal and external auditors as well as students' financing agencies,
vi. Perform monthly reconciliation procedures and programmes between accounts receivables, payables and help resolve and correct any unusual problem if the systems are out of balance,
vii. Prepares and submits statutory monthly and quarterly financial reports or any other financial information as may be, requested,
viii. Perform any other work-related duties as may be assigned to him or her.
Academic Qualifications
Holder of a Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance,
Holder of professional qualification CPA (T) ACCA or ICMA,
Seven years’ work experience 'of which 3 must have been in management position.

Required Abilities Knowledge and Skills

High Ievel analytical on problem solving ability, ability to communicate
Effectively and appropriately in both English and Kiswahili languages, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, high level computer Sills and conversant with at least more than one accounting software.
