Position: Social Worker
Job Summary
To Identify and support case management for Persons with Specific Needs (PSN) and older men, wormen and their immediate family members and ensure their engagement in the project activities to improve their protection and well-being in the camp through routine home visits, care and support. HelpAge is seeking for a Social Worker with Gender Based violence (GBV) skills to conduct all steps of the case management process for an assigned number of GBV survivors and women and girls with specific needs at risk of GBV. Case worker may be Centre based or work as part of a mobile outreach team. Strong awareness of and experience in working with issues around gender, discrimination and the rights of vulnerable women, men and girls with disabilities will be added value as essential for this post.

Job Description
HelpAge International wishes to recruit a Social Worker (SW) for the Burundian Refugee Response programme based in Kibondo District in Kigoma Region, Tanzania. , We are looking for a dynamic person with relevant skills, experience and qualifications to join a dedicated team responsible for implementation of Project activities for People with Special Needs (PSNs) and People with Disabilities (PWDs) including older persons in Nduta and Mtendeli

Person Specification
  • A bachelor’s degree or Diploma in social Works, Community Psychology, Community Development or Sociology.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years hands on relevant professional experience especially in social works or development works.
  • Experience of working on GBV issues.
  • Demonstrable interest in ageing issues
  • Experience in working with refugee population is preferred.
  • Understanding of protection and human rights issues concerning the refugees a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills
  • Self-motivation and strong team spirit
  • Good report writing skills

Position: Community Based Rehabilitation Officers (TW0 POSITIONS)

Job Summary
S/he is responsible for overall clinical rehabilitation management of patients at the Community-Based Rehabilitation Centres (CBRC) for both adults and children with disabilities, coordinate the preparation of rehabilitation action plans, Ensure delivery of home based care to clients, coordinate assessment and delivery of mobility and assistive aids and enforcing the delivery of basic minimum standards are applied to People with Disabilities (PWDs) and Older persons in humanitarian actions. Work with the protection team to ensure that Persons with Specific needs are prioritised in the various sectors. The incumbent will also play a big role in the Training of CBR staff to intermediary rehabilitation skills level.

Job Description
HelpAge International wishes to recruit two Community Based Rehabilitation Officers for the Burundian Refugee Response programme based in Kibondo District in Kigoma Region, Tanzania. The post holder will provide technical assistance to Kibondo Office including incentive staff.

Person Specification
  • A Degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or its Equivalent from a Government recognized institution.
  • Member of the National Association of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
  • 1 year experience in the refugee response with hands-on service delivery to PSN
  • Excellent technical understanding of rehabilitation or occupational therapy services
  • Ability to coach, mentor and train staff to undertake CBR services
  • Knowledge of Monitoring and evaluation
  • Good Computer knowledge and skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to operate in extremely harsh living and working environment
  • Ability to communicate both in English and Swahili languages. Knowledge of one or two Burundian refugee’s languages, a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to short deadlines
