The Opportunity:
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the growth and diversification of grant income portfolio for Plan International Tanzania by strategically engaging with Plan International’s National Offices, strengthening donor relations particularly in Tanzania.
You will provide strategic leadership of the Business Development and Grants department through design, review and execution of the Resource Mobilization Strategy.
You will be responsible for leading the Business Development and Grants team during end to end acquisition processes, as well as lead all new project start up processes, overall grants compliance management and smooth closeout of grant projects while working closely with the program team
You will form a part of the Country Management Team (CMT) and will be expected work very collaboratively with other CMT members to meet the country objectives.
Do you have what it takes?
In order to succeed in this challenging and exciting role, you will require demonstrable knowledge of the donor landscape in Tanzania, have hands on skills in proposal writing/packaging and submission processes, Project start up expertise and experience, overall grants management, capacity building of staff and project close out processes and experience in grants acquisition/management in disaster response settings. Ability to develop/manage and large and complex budgets will be critical as well.
Demonstrable knowledge key issues in development regarding Global Goals such as (SDGs),CEDAW and UNCRC particularly around child rights with a focus on girls will be desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and public speaking.
