Risk Officer POSITION DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY:

Enhance risk controls, to define methodologies to ensure that the risks and expenses originated in the bank’s operations can be predicted and are acceptable to the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Risk

1. Ensure that sources of operational risk have been well identified and measured
2. Ensure that mitigations for operational risk are in place
3. Daily and monthly monitoring of operational risk indicators and reporting to Head of risk when the risk is moderate to high ranking with advice on how to mitigate it
4. Provide advice to departments on any issue that requires their attention to mitigate operational risk
5. Follow up on fraud and other incidents and recommend measures to address in short term and long term basis

Market Risk

6. Ensure that mitigations for market and liquidity risks are in place
7. Review Market, Liquidity, ALCO, & Investment Risk Policies and Treasury Operations Procedures and make recommendations to the Head of Risk
8. Monitor limits for Market & Liquidity risk exposures
9. Perform independent review of Treasury related processes to determine adequacy and effectiveness of risk management practices
10. Daily and monthly monitoring of market & liquidity risk indicators and reporting to Head of risk when the risk is moderate to high ranking with advice on how to mitigate it


Credit Risk
11. Review Credit Risk Policies and Procedures and make recommendations to the Head of Risk
12. Monitor limits for Credit Risk exposures
13. Monitor internal and external factors that may warrant credit risk and recommend measures to mitigate them
14. Daily and monthly monitoring of credit risk indicators and reporting to Head of risk when the risk is moderate to high ranking with advise on how to mitigate it
15. Any other duty assigned by Head of Risk

- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Risk, Banking,Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of one year experience
